INTRODUCING ASPIRING ARTIST MAIKEN LINDHARDT
What it means to be a human? And what it means to be a woman in a world full of challenges and expectations?
Maiken Lindhardt's artwork delves into the core of human existence. Her paintings frequently showcase prominent female figures, their facial expressions capturing a gamut of emotions. Whether these emotions convey happiness or sadness is left open to interpretation, allowing viewers to discover their own personal feelings within the artwork. Employing an intuitive and abstract approach with figures recalling early flat modernist paintings, Maiken employs various tools, including her hands, spatulas, scrapers, and brushes. She combines abstract and figurative elements, making a unique universe of meaningful forms and vibrant colors. She confesses, "I have always been drawn to painting faces and people. I derive immense joy from capturing their distinct and vulnerable expressions, offering glimpses into their inner selves." Her paintings do not deny that life is hard, but luckily there is always hope - in the form of the sun, flowers or birds.
Maiken Lindhardt (b. 1994) is a young emerging Danish visual artist who creates mixed media paintings and prints. Living amidst nature provides Maiken with a serene environment that serves as a wellspring of peace and inspiration.
